Ashwood Veterinary Clinic is a long standing Sutton Coldfield Veterinary Practice, first opening its doors in the town centre in the late 1930's. As the Practice grew, a branch with greater space was established in the early 60's at Four Oaks. This branch surgery benefited from a much larger site and so was gradually able to expand to become the main Surgery and an Animal Hospital.
After working in the Practice for several years, it was bought by Mike Rowland in 1984. The following year Simon Perry a good friend & colleague joined Mike. In 1988, the Four Oaks Surgery, located at 448 Lichfield Road, underwent a quarter of a million pound expansion and refurbishment to hospital standards, building a new waiting room, dispensary, three consulting rooms, cat ward, kennels, isolation, dispensary & laboratory to considerably expand the previous Practice. It has been regularly re-equipped and upgraded since.
The Sutton Town Centre Practice was originally based at 63 Lichfield Road and relocated to Jerrard Drive in 1984 continuing to provide services to town centre patients & North Birmingham. Extensive parking restrictions gradually rendered this site inappropriate and the Practice relocated to larger self-contained premises at 74 Holland Road. The new Sutton Town Centre Practice opened in May 2000 and the Holland Road site offers larger new premises, renovated to the same high standards as the Four Oaks Practice and offering all the same services on site. Of particular importance is the safe off-street parking to the rear of the Clinic.
